It’s big, it’s bad and it’s one of the most recognizable vehicles in horror film history.
This is the truck from the 2001 film “Jeepers Creepers”.
The personal ride of “The Creeper”, an unholy beast that stalks back roads every 23 years for 23 days looking for victims. Their fate is cleverly spelled out in the vanity tag BEATINGU (Be Eating You).
Built on a 1941 C.O.E flatbed, the effects team transformed this ordinary farm truck into a true Hollywood icon. This is one of three identical trucks, customized for use in the film.
This particular truck was not only used in the chase scenes but boasts the only interior shot of The Creeper’s traveling slaughterhouse.
It has a 235 Chevy straight six with a floor-mounted four-speed transmission. The unique cow catcher bumper not only adds to its menacing appearance but provides added muscle to those unfortunates traveling too slow in the fast lane.
Otherwise stripped to the bone for filming, there’s no power steering, no power brakes, and just one accessory, the unmistakable, ear-shattering horn.
The current owner is Tim Glace of Elkton, MD.
