Pat Krause is the real deal.
He is a lifelong rodder hailing from Harford County Maryland and has been building cars for half a century.
Pat lived the golden era of hot-rodding and cruised in a cool custom Olds Rocket, a member of the Golden Gears Car Club.
The walls of Pat’s three-bay garage tell stories of those good ole days, with guys who are no longer with us, like Dave Strickler and the ‘Ole Reliable 409 Chevy, (“fast” by Grumpy Jenkins) and “Roadster Jack” Colson.
He still has a love for Oldsmobile, and his black ‘50 coupe is seen often at the Lowes Cruise in Abington.
He also has a ‘49 Olds Convertible, a 57 Fairlane drop top, and a ‘71 Nova.
His latest project is strickly old school, on a very familiar platform – the ‘32 Ford 5-Window Coupe.
He says it’s in great shape because it’s been a hotrod all of it’s life, using several powerplants along the way. It’s authentic and period-perfect right down to the bias-ply whitewall Firestone slicks and a 265 chevy small block.
Pat says this is his last build, but I wouldn’t count on it– he’s too much of a car guy.
