Hello all and welcome to the tail end of this year‘s cruising season! The weather is starting to get cooler and our outdoor exploits may get a little bit more pleasant!
I first want to share with you a list of organizations that have made donations to us in 2023 and the amounts.
Classic Cars of Maryland – $605
Chesapeake Region AACA – $847
Lazy Eights – $100
Watersedge Rec. Council – $50
Free State VCCA – $300
Buick Owners of Maryland- $500
There have been more individuals than I can list here that have also made donations, and I wish to thank them along with the organizations listed above!
At our August cruise at the Harford Vineyard and Winery, the AACA Chesapeake Region handled all of the hosting duties. A little earlier in
the summer Classic Cars of Maryland hosted a cruise to benefit us at the Fallston Barrel House. If there are any other organizations that would like to do that sort of thing during next year‘s cruising season, please let us know. We are happy to help with providing a venue, and we can reap mutual benefits from such a pairing.
As most of you read in the last issue, our good friend Dan “Swish” Swisher passed away. We have decided to partner with Motorama Productions, the group that Swish worked closely with producing all of their highly successful car shows, to memorialize and honor him. We will be purchasing a Trailer to donate to the York County (PA) School of Technology in order for them to transport engines and supplies for their engine building competitions. That program is dedicated to getting young folks involved with auto mechanics just as the CCCEF strives to. This will not be an inexpensive endeavor, so, if there are any of you that wish to contribute towards this cause in particular, we are happy to accept your donations!
Our volunteers here at the CCCEF are working on several programs for next year. We hope to collect a large number of small diecast models from folks like you in order to present them to young folks at car events next year. If anyone would like to donate one or some new in the package Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning or other quality diecast cars to our cause… Drop us a message and we will make arrangements to meet you to collect your donation.
Our Real Man’s Yard Sale was a huge success this year. We will return to the Markets of Shrewsbury in 2024. The date and details will be announced at our All Clubs Breakfast, which will be on February 17, 2024. Our host again will be the Bel Air Moose Club in Forest Hill, Md.
I’m hoping that the next couple of months treat you kindly and – as always… I’ll see you on the return road!
– Doug
