Well, Hello Everyone,
I want to start with some big news that I can’t really share with you quite yet…LOL. We have partnered with a major car show production company to provide a much-needed gift to someone, and it’s a surprise! We will post pictures and some explanations once it happens. Trust me when I tell you, this is the biggest Gift that the Foundation has provided thus far. Follow us on Facebook and look for an update in the January Online Cruise Guide, and their February print edition.
We’ve had a very successful, cruising season and thanks to you, our fundraising endeavors have been lucrative. As I’ve mentioned in the past, area, clubs have been generous as well as many individuals.
Recently, we have been accepting donations in the form of small die cast cars. We hope to accumulate enough of these to share with very interested young folks during the next hot rod season. If you wish to donate some high-quality, in the package die casts to our cause, feel free to catch up with any one of our volunteers or Dave and myself. We will make arrangements to get them from you!
The date for the Real Man’s Yard Sale in 2024 has been set for August 17. It will return to the Markets of Shrewsbury.
In between now and then, we plan on making several changes to the layout of the field as well as the way folks will register. We hope to have an online store set up to make it easier to pay. I must remind everyone that it’s important for you to know how much space you need at the sale. You need to calculate the size of your vehicle and/or trailer, your wares and tables. The best analogy that I can make for this is when you rent a home; you are entitled to the space inside of your property lines. Nothing more! We will be vigilant at enforcing space utilization!
Lastly, I want to let you all know that we are partnering with Wrenching for the Future. They run a program that involves young people in the real time build of a hot rod! We are seeking a local shop that may be willing to donate space for this group to come to our region to perform one of these awesome builds. Also, if there is anyone reading this that may have a project that they would be willing to donate, car, truck, whatever we would love to talk to you!
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season and may all of your holiday wishes come true!
As always…
I’ll see you on the return road!
– Doug
