Well, it won’t be long now… All of our energy is going into the planning for the Real Man’s Yard Sale. Just in case you’ve been living on Mars, the yard sale has moved from its prior location in Jarrettsville up to the Markets at Shrewsberry in Pennsylvania. It’s being held on Saturday, August 5 from eight until two.
This is a rain or shine event. Similar to last year, registrations have been slow up until about two weeks ago and are going like crazy now. There’s still plenty of room, so please find the registration button on our webpage, savethehobby.org . If any of you out there are interested in lending us a hand, we would welcome your assistance. Contact me at 410-456-2227 or Dave here at the magazine.
Our cruise up at Harford Vineyard and Winery on August 19 is being hosted by the Chesapeake Region AACA. The rain date will be September 16th . Let me take this opportunity to personally thank the fine folks with that group for stepping up and hosting a fundraiser to benefit the foundation. Please make it a point to put it on your calendar and join us!
We are pleased to announce that we will be funding a new monthly workshop up at Ron’s Rods in Kingsville. There, Ron will go through basic welding, metal shaping, and various fabrication techniques.
The first one is scheduled for Thursday, July 27 from 6PM till 9PM These workshops are free to anyone up to the age of 30, since our focus is young rodders. If you are past the age of 30, you are welcome to join us, but please help us out with a $10 donation. Contact Ron at his shop (410-592-1148) to sign up.
The gang here at CCCEF are working hard to put together some very cool raffles. We have already announced the raffle for a pair of Porter mufflers, but we are also looking at some custom pinstriped toolboxes once again and also some very cool resin hot rods that can be mildly customized to your specs. We plan to have tickets prepared to start selling at the real Man’s yard sale, and we will draw the winners at our season closing show up at Harford Vineyard and Winery. You need not be present to win however, should you be the winner, once you are notified, you will need to make arrangements to pickup your prize.
I’m hoping that none of you have washed away or melted during this abnormally rainy cruising season…keep pluggin’ away though!!!
Of course, I hope to see you on the return road!!!
