I’ve been a car guy all my life according to my Mom (I used to pick car makes and models as we vacationed as early as age 10). It got worse (better) when I started hanging at my neighbor Ron Dorak’s garage. He had a ‘68 Camaro Z/28 that I believe he raced in the C/MP class. I spent every moment I could down there trying to help out (getting in his way). The first vehicle I owned, at the age of 18, was a ‘65 GMC Handi-Van nicknamed the Woodchuck and my first hot rod was a ‘37 Chevy coupe at age 23. The truth is, I’ve never stopped enjoying the hobby and I’m excited to be helping to get young folks involved in this sport that I so love!

I have been nuts about cars since I was about five. I knew every make and model on the road until they all started to look the same in the 80’s. My first car was a huge ’65 Plymouth Fury- it cost me 400 bucks, but was worth a million dollars to me. My first new vehicle was a custom Dodge Van, and I was a member of the North Chesapeake Bay Van Club ( which still exists). I had helped with some car shows and cruises, which eventually started my desire to publish a magazine for the hobby, the Car Show & Cruise Guide. Imagine that- getting paid to hang around cars all day! I’m happy to share my interest in old cars with a new generation of enthusiasts through the Foundation.
